Job Title: Boiler Operator

Reports to: Maintenance and Facilities Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Boiler Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our boiler, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the boiler, including monitoring temperature, pressure, and water levels
• Monitor, record and control the fuel and water consumption.
• Should be able to replace gaskets and valves as and when needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning of the tubes and burner maintenance.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and report any concerns to management
• Troubleshoot and repair boiler-related problems, including faults and malfunctions
• Maintain accurate records of boiler performance, maintenance, and repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including those related to boiler operation and maintenance
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless production operations
• Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry best practices

Required Skills:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a boiler operator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of boiler operations, maintenance, and repair
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to boiler operation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and record-keeping skills
• Relevant certifications or training in boiler operation and maintenance (e.g., Boiler Operator Certification)

Desirable Qualities:

• Experience with boiler control systems and instrumentation
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
• Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management software
